We first hired one of these birth pools while planning a homebirth with our first child. Our daughter Mia was born in October 2005 after a long labour, most of which was spent in the pool.
She was delivered into the water in the early hours of a Sunday morning and I found being in the pool such a comfort we decided that if we were ever to have any more children we would use a pool again.
When we were expecting our second child we decided to buy a pool and hire it out to new parents-to-be. In June 2007 Alex was born after a shorter labour in the pool and our belief in the pain relieving and relaxing qualities of the birth pool were confirmed.
You can hire a pool to use during labour, to deliver your baby or simply for relaxing during your pregnancy.
